How TRICOR streamlines ESG reporting through the Cozero and Sunhat partnership

The pace of change in sustainability is rapidly accelerating and brings added complexity, requiring companies to adapt continuously to meet new expectations. Furthermore, TRICOR aims to halve its CO2 consumption by 2030.

To meet these targets, while also optimizing and streamlining their data management and ESG reporting efforts, TRICOR joint forces with the two SaaS companies Cozero and Sunhat.

Laying the groundwork for centralized ESG reporting

The Sustainability Management Department, which was founded in 2024, had to process ESG ratings using the basic data from the existing IMS system (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 50001) while gaining new insights for a sustainable future. 

In addition to the extensive sustainability reporting requirements, other challenges included tight deadlines for the submission of EcoVadis and CDP report submissions and upcoming CSRD regulations. 

Against this backdrop, the team was looking for a solution to streamline and standardize data collection. At the same time, they needed to derive strategic insights from the emissions data. In addition, expert guidance was needed to adapt to changing conditions and meet client expectations for clear and transparent reporting.

The Sunhat & Cozero moment

TRICOR chose Cozero and Sunhat for a comprehensive solution, as the two platforms offer complementary strengths. TRICOR uses Sunhat to systematically collect, approve, and store data, particularly to be able to respond to EcoVadis, CDP and the upcoming CSRD. Sunhat's sustainability experts guided TRICOR through best practices and compliance, ensuring high-quality submissions.

Furthermore, Cozero enables TRICOR to meet CSRD ESRS E1 requirements, enabling the calculation of carbon footprints such as CCF and PCF while also providing actionable analytics for internal decision-making.

The synergy between Cozero and Sunhat will also ensure an effective integration of data between both systems, laying the groundwork for centralized ESG reporting.

How TRICOR uses Sunhat & Cozero

With Sunhat’s Customer Success Team providing hands-on support, they submitted accurate, framework-compliant data to meet pressing EcoVadis and CDP deadlines. This collaboration not only earned TRICOR Packaging & Logistics AG the EcoVadis Gold Medal but also positioned the company as a reliable partner capable of sharing verified data with its customers.

Using both Cozero's and Sunhat's systems, TRICOR has been able to prepare for its CDP and EcoVadis submission in 2024. Data management is a work in progress and to increase transparency and move away from modelled data, the team will explore opportunities for increased supplier engagement moving into 2025. Starting from January 2025, the team will also start data collection for the CSRD report in 2026.

Result: Centralized ESG reporting

Through the integration of Sunhat & Cozero, TRICOR laid the groundwork for their centralized ESG reporting. They have achieved the following as a result:

• Streamlined compliance reporting for CSRD, CDP and Ecovadis: They have now implemented processes that make compliance with the requirements more efficient. This reduces the reporting burden and ensures the accuracy of the information provided, providing a reliable sustainability profile.

• Advanced carbon footprint calculations for CSRD: These analyses make it possible to accurately calculate the carbon footprint and develop strategies to reduce emissions, resulting in a positive environmental impact and cost efficiency. This data could be transferred into Sunhat and will now be used for CSRD reporting.
