What is a business unit?

A business unit is a specific area, department or team within an organization. For example, companies with a diverse customer base or geographical focus may set up individual business units for each product line or market. This allows them to operate more effectively and segment their products or services. The Cozero Suite offers to map and create a digital twin of the organizational structure of a company for a simpler and more structured calculation of respective emissions coming from different business units of a company. As part of that, Cozero can build organizational hierarchies, i.e. business units and subunits, meaning mother-daughter-relationships between organizational units.
